In our ongoing search for quality travel gear, we were thrilled to find a brand new Field & Stream store near us in Katy, Texas. If you’ve never been to one of these specialty destinations, you’re missing out. They have a wide range of necessities for just about any activity you want to tackle—and this particular location was truly spectacular.
The Field & Stream we had the pleasure of visiting only opened a few months ago, on October 21st, 2016—and it is one of only two “triple play” stores, according to the super helpful associate I spoke with. This means that instead of just having a standalone Field & Stream here, they have an adjoining Field & Stream, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Golf Galaxy. It almost feels like a mini-mall! Definitely an awesome experience, we felt like we could find everything we needed—and as another associate pointed out, gift cards purchased there can be used at any of the three stores in a unified checkout. So cool!
There were lots of unique displays throughout Field & Stream, and the ambiance itself seemed to be filled with wanderlust. We found several items we’ve had (and LOVED) in our travel arsenal for a while, and several we were wanting to try out, and finally able to get our hands on. The whole experience was a lot of fun and brought back a lot of fond memories of our travels this past year—and excitement about the next trips we’ll take.
Field & Stream’s clothing choices are really unique and stylish. I saw many pieces I could easily add to my wardrobe and be super happy with.
Not to mention the ADORABLE kids’ section.
There were also many of our favorite brands of shoes, with a lot of sales going on, too!
In the camping and travel gear, we found a lot of our favorites, including Eagle Creek Packing Cubes, which we use for all our clothing when we travel—and some awesome-looking new mini cubes I was really excited to get my hands on (now to figure out what to put in them! Ha).
Field & Stream also had our favorite travel cutlery, the Light My Fire Sporks. We LOVE these little guys and they have been total workhorses for us. We’ve replaced a couple but we still use them everyday.
The spice containers are super, too. We have the mini salt and pepper one, but we’ve thought about expanding our collection of spices with some of the more elaborate sets.
This little Luci Lamp is loads of fun, and packs up super small. We don’t own one currently cause we’re doing more “urban” traveling, but we’ve used them and they’re awesome.
We were also thrilled to find a rather LARGE selection of smart watches and the like near the front of the store, including my fav, the FitBit. I’ve worn my Charge HR around the world, and despite much abuse, it still holds a charge and tracks even the craziest of days properly. Many, many memories logged on that baby.
