These sloppy joes are seriously one of the easiest, cheapest, most crowd-pleasing meals ever at our place. Our kids ALL gobble it up (and ask for seconds)! The recipe originally came from my hubby’s grandmother (who I hear—and believe!—was an amazing cook). Best part? It takes only minutes to prepare. And, did I mention? These sloppy joes are amazing.
This recipe makes enough for a small family, but if your spouse and/or kiddos tend to eat more than one, I’d recommend making a double batch. We always make double, and we do tend to have leftovers, but those make an easy reheat for later!
Easy Sloppy Joes
Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 bottle Heinz Chili Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Ketchup
- 1 package Hamburger buns
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large pan with a bit of oil or butter (I usually add a bit of garlic powder to kill any bacteria in the meat, but this is an optional step)
- Add the entire bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce and the tablespoon of ketchup (just give it a good squirt if you don’t feel like measuring)
- Stir it together, and cook until the mixture thickens–then spoon it onto buns and serve!
We also love to serve these up as sliders. If you want to get fancy, saute some onions and/or red peppers before you start the meat, then proceed through the rest of the recipe as normal.
Sooo delish. What family favorites do you have at your house?
(Psst – pin this to save it for later!)
