No matter who you voted for and whether you’re happy or unhappy with the election results, I think we can all agree on one thing—we all want America to be great again. I think this goes beyond a decision for the presidency; it comes from our collective core. Though the big decisions matter, so do all of the little ones each of us make every day.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not about to spring a political debate on you. If anything, this is a pep talk.
Since the very beginning of our country, the individuals that have made us a whole—from all backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, however you want to describe it—have sought a better future. Freedom, I believe that’s how they termed it. Freedom to pursue their dreams.
I think we all want the same thing today, and we can still achieve it, whoever is in presidency. In fact, we are already achieving it.
Take a company called Libman, for example. For over 120 years, the Libman family has had one goal: quality—and getting that quality into the hands of the people who need it. Though they started by making the finest, most durable wire-wound corn brooms, they now produce a wide range of incredible, green products.
Libman took normal household cleaning and made it a precise art. If you’ve ever used something they’ve made, you know what a joy it is to have exactly the right tool for the job. Not only the right too, but the best tool. Quality.
This year, American Made celebrated their 5th anniversary with a high-impact, two-day summit in New York City at Martha Stewart Headquarters. The nation’s most influential innovators, celebrity entrepreneurs, and successful small-business owners—including amazing people like Jessica Alba and Martha Stewart herself—came together in one place to push each other further toward their dreams. These are people who are doing what our country set out to do from its very start.
Libman was a proud sponsor of this amazing event.
Bringing it full circle: if we want America to be “great” again, we need to keep innovating, keep pioneering, keep creating. Keep making quality. And if you don’t create, partner with people who do. Even if that’s as simple as supporting companies like Libman by buying their American-made, quality products.
If you’ll be in NYC this November 12th-13th, stop by Martha Stewart’s American Made experience at the Renegade Craft Fair. Not only can you get some great holiday shopping in, all of the products are made by artisans and makers from across the U.S.—meaning you’re supporting our country by purchasing them. Libman will also be there with free DIY activities at the Martha Stewart’s American Made experience area (the event will be at the Metropolitan Pavilion Building on West 18th Street in NYC from 11am to 6pm both days).
To connect with Libman further, find them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.
Keep making America great.
