Every other Sunday night at our house is game night. We have a group of friends over after the kids are tucked into bed, and play favorites like Carcassonne, 7 Wonders, and Ricochet Robots (ok, so we’re a little different in our “favorites” category, but nonetheless…). My older kids (5 & 3-1/2) are always asking about it, “Did you have a fun game night?” “What games did you play?” “Maybe we could play game night with you guys next time…” (even though they know this is game night for big people).
Last week, however, I got to treat them all to a special surprise. A couple weeks ago, one of the creators of Let’s Potty! sent me a sweet message, asking if we’d like to have a copy of their board game for young children to review. Since #2 (3-1/2) is still working on potty training and #3 (2) is just starting to express interest, I thought it would be perfect. Little did I know just how perfect!
Literally, I tell you, not a day has gone by since we opened that package that I haven’t heard, “Mommy/Daddy, can we play the potty game?” in some shape or form. They love how easy it is for them to play together, how simple the concept and play, and most of all, that they can have their own little “game night.” Plus, of course, there is the added bonus of learning the key concepts of potty training while having so much fun.
This looks and sounds interesting. I’m not sure Zeva would truly understand it right now, but she may when she gets just a bit older. I can’t wait until she’s completely potty trained!
