Whether you homeschool, public school, or somewhere in between, I think all of us can agree that education is quite the mountain for any child. Add in all the budget cuts every one of us has faced in some way due to the economy, and we’ve got some pretty big deficits—that affect the ones we love most, our children.
The good news is, there have also been some pretty big wins by people just like us, making a difference.
Do you remember saving Box Tops for Education for your school as a child? I sure do. Those haphazardly-cut cardboard rectangles were like pieces of gold. I was so excited when I could just contribute two or three, and times when I had more than that to give made me feel rich.
That somehow, even at my young age, I could give back to my school—that felt like one of my biggest accomplishments.
Fast-forward twenty years (sorry, Gen Z, you probably have NO IDEA what fast-forward means… Hashtag getting old), and now our kids have the same opportunity. What a huge win, that a company such as General Mills has been giving back for so long now that an entire generation has elapsed! Truly incredible.
And now there are digital “eBoxtops,” too. Mind = blown.
But not just that—twenty Texas schools have the chance to win 20,000 bonus Box Tops (that’s $2000 worth!), just by being nominated by families like us. All you have to do is register and vote… Which takes, what, two minutes?
I’m pretty sure all of us can find two minutes to make a difference for our children’s education. Even if we never plan on clipping a single Box Top.
Go ahead, we’ll still be here when you get done. Earn some Box Tops for Education and make a difference.
